Passwordless login using on-device authentication and biometrics

The Babylon wallet uses passkeys as the primary method of authentication for player accounts. This enables passwordless account creation and login, removing the risk of forgotten passwords resulting in lost access to players' accounts and game assets. Additionally, passkeys can utilise biometric authentication methods without face or fingerprint information leaving the player's device.

What is a passkey?

A passkey is a new way to sign in that works completely without passwords. By using the security capabilities of your devices like Touch ID and Face ID, passkeys are way more secure and are easier to use than both passwords and all current 2-factor authentication methods.

Based on FIDO standards, passkeys are a replacement for passwords that provide faster, easier, and more secure sign-ins to websites and apps across a user’s devices. Unlike passwords, passkeys are always strong and phishing-resistant.​

Passkeys simplify account registration for apps and websites, are easy to use, work across most of a user’s devices, and even work on other devices within physical proximity.
